1. Serve brunch in bed. Breakfast in bed is thoughtful, but what if your mom wants to sleep in? Sleep is a luxury that she probably doesn’t get much of. So let her sleep! When she wakes up, surprise her with a delicious brunch in bed.

5. Go on a shopping spree. Chances are, your mom loves to shop but gets only a little time to do it. Treat her to an entire day out shopping at all her favorite stores. Help her pick out some new clothes and accessories. Then, keep the shopping energy high with lunch at her favorite cafe.
6. Cook dinner. If mom is always on dinner duty, give her a much-deserved night off. Take over your mom’s kitchen and prepare her favorite meal or something entirely new for her to try.
7. Go to a movie. If there’s a movie your mom has wanted to check out but has yet to have a chance to see, take her to see it! Remember to splurge on all her favorite movie snacks.
8. Pack a picnic. Spend some quality time outdoors with your mom. Pack a picnic basket with various meat, cheese, fruit, veggies, crackers, and beverages to enjoy. Remember to pick a spot with a fantastic view.
9. Encourage personal growth. For example, if your mom wants to learn to speak a foreign language or how to play an instrument, treat her to a live or online class.
10. Make a Mother’s Day playlist. Set the mood for Mother’s Day with music! Gather mom and the family to collaborate on her soundtrack. She’s sure to have it on repeat while she celebrates the day.
11. Host a binge-watching party. Put together a line-up of your mom’s favorite movies and tv shows. Then, gather on the couch and watch it with her while enjoying snacks.

15. Visit a local bookstore. If your mom is a bookworm, she’ll appreciate a trip to the local bookstore. Help mom pick out some new books to add to her home library.
16. Go away for the weekend. If your mom can get out of town for a few days, treat her to a weekend trip. Take her somewhere she’s always wanted to go. If getting out of town is not an option, consider a staycation.

22. Make a fancy floral arrangement Instead of buying your mom a bouquet, give her everything she needs to create her own. Gather some fresh-cut flowers and a variety of vases. Spend an afternoon with your mom creating floral arrangements. If you’re feeling extra creative, use some of the blooms to make a floral crown or a corsage for your mom that she can wear for the day.

26. Design a memory book. Design a heartwarming personalized book of memories filled with your mom’s favorite family photos. Then, take a trip down memory lane while you flip through the book with her.
27. Visit a coffee shop. If your mom runs on coffee, a trip to your local coffee shop is in order. Invite her out for a cup of coffee and her favorite pastry.
28. Host a Mother’s Day backyard barbecue. If your mom loves cooking on the grill, fire it up and serve all her favorite cookout foods.

31. Cook together. Look for a live or online cooking class or dig up an old family recipe. Then, join her in the kitchen to whip up something delicious.
32. Encourage her to pursue her passion. Whether your mom likes to scrapbook, draw, paint, crochet, knit, sew, or quilt, give her fresh supplies to continue doing more of what she loves. Get involved with her hobby and ask her to show you one of her techniques.

34. Organize a family photo shoot. There’s one sure thing that moms love–pictures! Chances are she’s always behind the camera taking all the pictures. So get her in the picture! 35. Organize a Crafternoon. If you’ve got a maker for a mom, spend the day crafting with her. Painting, coloring, cross-stitching, scrapbooking, and wreath- making are all fun activities.
36. Go out to eat. Is there a restaurant your mom has been raving about or wanting to try? Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, take her to her favorite place to eat! As a bonus, nobody has to cook or clean up afterward, so there will be more time for celebrating the day with your mom.
37. Schedule a fishing trip. Does your mom enjoy fishing? If she likes to fish, schedule a fishing trip. Treat her to some new fishing gear that she can bring along.
38. Visit a farm. Look up a local U-pick farm. Treat your mom to an afternoon of flower or fruit picking. She can use the flowers in a pretty arrangement and the fruit in a tasty treat.

Beauty counters at major department stores like Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdales, and Dillards are great places to try a new look or get a makeover.
47. Attend a DIY workshop. If your mom likes a good DIY project, join her at a workshop. Stores like Lowes and Michaels offer a variety of live or virtual classes where she can learn the skills to tackle various projects.
48. Start the day with yoga. Get active with your mom. If she is into yoga, take her to a yoga class. If she’s never been to a yoga class, sign her up for a beginner’s session.
